I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.... to everyone living in the UK, american students are pretty much idiots. Whether it is being loud in small areas, acting stupid about drinking, wearing american flags on clothes etc.... Please realize we are not all complete morons! I am of the opinion that when visiting some place I want to blend in as much as possible.. not disturb the natural wildlife so to speak. And I do want to have fun but not at the expense of angering the entire population of the UK. Maybe I'm just snotty... well i am... but we are their guests not, not here by divine right.
.... and now post-venting i will continue
Found first secret passage the other day, it wasn't really so secret, the college had it open to get people from one room to another, but when it is closed it looks just like all the other walls in the great hall, pictures of it to come, i haven't taken them yet. But the door look just like the walls and it leads from the State Dining Room to the Great Hall, not very far as they are next to each other but it was exciting none the less. Also shout out to my friend Robb, the other day I told him I had to go to the conservatory and he told me I should go through the secret passage in the kitchen.. now this makes no sense as they are on opposite sides of the house and we aren't even allowed in the kitchens (although cute British boys do work there maybe because cute British boys work there) ... of course he was making a joke about the board game Clue.. now I know and so do you.
Here is a picture of the ceiling of the cedar staircase.. the one i mostly use to get to my room... not a very good picture.. but i shall soon go on a ceiling picture taking tour because I am so in awe of them here. I think our ceilings at home have a lot to learn, in fact our houses in general have a lot to learn.. in the future i will only accept houses with gilded ceiling, secret passages, and England addresses.. that shouldn't be too hard to find should it.
Although i do admit it might be creepy living in such a huge place alone. Oh well a girl can dream

Hey, I can think of some really nifty digs 30 miles or so west of London. Let us know as soon as you need the thermal undies. There's a reason for central heating! [Or are they telling you it's over rated? :-D] Seriously, the place looks magical.
this makes me think of hogwarts and magic just because of secret passages in england. you are one lucky girl!
